Description
The Counsel provides legal services across legislative, regulatory, litigation, and corporate matters for the American Petroleum Institute and its member companies. The role involves advising senior executives and client groups, evaluating regulatory and legislative issues, drafting memoranda and briefs, preparing testimony and industry comments, participating in administrative proceedings, and engaging in litigation or judicial proceedings. The position requires an ABA-accredited law degree, 7–10 years of experience in a similar role, subject-matter expertise, litigation experience, and strong communication and consensus-building skills; oil and gas or environmental law experience is a plus. The role offers up to 25% travel and is DC-based, with a comprehensive benefits package.
