Counsel, Operations at cortland

Cortland is hiring a senior legal advisor to lead legal support for residential and community operations across its multifamily real estate portfolio. The Counsel, Operations will advise on property management, resident matters, Fair Housing and landlord-tenant compliance, ADA accommodations, litigation, claims, investigations, risk management, contracts, and regulatory developments; manage outside counsel and litigation resources; develop compliance processes; partner with cross-functional executives; and lead 2–3 direct reports. The role requires a JD, Georgia Bar membership or eligibility for in-house counsel authorization, and at least seven years of relevant legal experience, with multifamily, residential real estate, and in-house counsel experience preferred.
