Description
The Budget Officer oversees and manages the Smith County budgetary process, including the annual budget, departmental budget requests, tax-rate recommendations, expenditure monitoring, budget amendments, and the long-range Capital Improvement Program. The role directs assigned staff, prepares budget analysis and recommendations for Commissioners Court and other officials, develops budgeting policies and procedures, and supports the online budget application. It requires a bachelor's degree and at least seven years of related experience, with travel to county facilities as needed.
