Description
The Credentialing Specialist coordinates and maintains credentialing, recredentialing, licensure verification, board certification tracking, and provider privileging for licensed clinical staff. The role performs primary-source verification, maintains accurate credentialing records, monitors license and certification expirations, supports board-cycle applications, conducts audits, assists with external reviews, and generates compliance reports. The position does not perform payer enrollment, provider billing, or revenue cycle management. A high school diploma or GED is required, an associate degree or higher is preferred, and at least two years of relevant healthcare credentialing experience is strongly preferred.
