Description
The Crematory Operator receives and processes human remains, completes cremation documentation and chain-of-custody records, maintains crematorium equipment and facilities, follows applicable federal, state, municipal, and professional regulations, and may deliver or release cremated remains to authorized funeral homes or authorities. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a funeral-service or mortuary-science program where required by state law, one to three months of apprentice experience, and certification as a Crematory Operator where required by state law.
