Description
The School Crossing Guard is assigned to elementary, junior high, and some high schools to safely escort school-age children across school crosswalks in school speed zones. The role works split shifts of 1 to 6.5 hours, provides crossing instructions, monitors student behavior, uses safety equipment, reports hazards and traffic violations, and completes required training and requalification. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent, good physical condition, English communication skills, and must pass background, polygraph, and drug-screening requirements; full-time positions offer Florida Retirement System and health, life, dental, and vision benefits.
