Description
The Sterile Processing Technician coordinates surgical instruments and supplies between the operating room and Central Sterile Processing, prepares and transports sterile trays, monitors case flow, coordinates instrument turnarounds, audits postoperative carts, responds to surgical requests, and supports education and process improvement. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, three years of sterile processing experience, CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull objects weighing up to 450 pounds.
