Capital One is hiring a full-time, 12-week Applied Research PhD Intern for its AI Foundations team during Summer 2027. The intern will conduct applied research on large-scale AI problems, partner with researchers, data scientists, engineers, and product managers, develop AI-powered customer experiences, and contribute to academic publications. The role requires current enrollment in an accredited PhD program, completion of first-year coursework by June 2027, and in-person attendance at an assigned continental United States location under Capital One’s hybrid working model. The internship is paid, does not provide employment authorization sponsorship, and offers full-time Applied Research sponsorship for candidates hired after completion.
