Google is hiring a Customer Engineer to serve as a technical advisor to customers in the Public Sector, focusing on AI infrastructure and high-performance computing. The role partners with sales and technical teams, troubleshoots technical roadblocks, leads proofs of concept and demos, architects cross-pillar cloud solutions, and drives delivery and consumption plans. Responsibilities include advising on GPU/TPU hardware, machine-learning frameworks, benchmarks, and model-building techniques, while managing research engineering relationships. The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 10 years of cloud-native architecture experience in a customer-facing or support role, technical stakeholder presentation experience, machine-learning model development and deployment experience, and an active US Government TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The role is based in Reston, Virginia, or Washington, District of Columbia, with up to 20% travel, and offers a base salary of $152,000–$221,000 USD plus a 42.86% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
