Description
The City of Pico Rivera is hiring a full-time Customer Service Representative/Backflow Tester to perform field customer service and water-system operations, including service turn-ons and turn-offs, meter investigations, water consumption inquiries, water-quality complaint responses, and emergency repairs. The role also inspects, tests, repairs, installs, and replaces backflow prevention assemblies; conducts cross-connection control investigations and hazard assessments; maintains regulatory records; and advises customers on compliance. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, two years of meter-reading or customer-service experience, a valid California Class C driver's license, an AWWA Backflow Prevention Tester Certification, and a D2 Water Distribution Operator Certificate. The position is field-based, may require outdoor and non-traditional work, and is part of a competitive recruitment process.
