Description
UTMB Health is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform clinical diagnostic examination of human cells and identify malignant, benign, inflammatory, irritative, precancerous, cancerous, and infectious conditions. The role includes preparing and staining slides, evaluating cellular abnormalities, processing and accessioning specimens, supporting fine needle aspiration material procurement, documenting findings and quality-control activities, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and following laboratory safety and hazardous-material disposal protocols. A related bachelor's degree and certification as a Cytotechnologist from an approved accrediting agency are required, while prior experience is not required. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
