Description
The Data Center Chief Engineer oversees the day-to-day electrical, mechanical, and fire/life-safety operations and maintenance of AWS data centers, including preventive maintenance, corrective work, emergency response, root-cause analysis, project management, vendor coordination, and training of Engineering Operations Technicians. The role requires independent operation, escalation to the Data Center Facility Manager, adherence to safety and security procedures, and use of internal CMMS and Microsoft Office tools. Candidates need at least four years of data center engineering experience, three years of administrative experience, and experience leading technical teams or managing projects. The position may require travel to data center locations and is based in Herndon, Virginia, with a base salary of $111,300 to $186,100 annually.
