Description
Amazon is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical electrical and mechanical data center equipment, including generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, batteries, cooling systems, chillers, pumps, and motors. The role performs daily facility rounds, building and electrical management system monitoring, rack installations and decommissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, technical writing, and project support. It requires flexible on-site work, including shifts up to 12 hours, possible on-call rotations, travel between data center locations, and physical work involving lifting, climbing, and working in noisy environments. The position may support multiple locations and requires at least one year of Microsoft Office experience and one year of electrical or mechanical facilities maintenance experience; data center engineering experience, technical-documentation skills, and a related associate or technical degree are preferred. Visa sponsorship is not offered, but a relocation stipend may be provided to eligible candidates.
