Description
The Data Center Optical Engineer will lead customer-site and co-location work involving fiber installation, migrations, remediation, break/fix, and remote hands services. The role includes optical testing and troubleshooting with power meters, light sources, VFLs, OTDRs, and test sets; interpreting methods of procedure, engineering documents, vendor documentation, and network diagrams; and managing structured cabling and port connections. The position is based in Richardson, Texas, requires travel to non-home markets, and offers $30.00-$32.00 USD per hour for a 12+ month contract. Candidates need team-lead experience, 3–15 years of data center or similar technical experience, strong fiber and optical testing expertise, customer-facing communication skills, and the ability to work safely in varied environments.
