Description

Career Team, a private workforce development organization in the United States, is hiring a Data Conversion Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain data ingestion and conversion systems for government-funded workforce development programs. The role focuses on transforming structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into normalized models using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Nest.js, Next.js, MongoDB, OCR, document processing, RESTful APIs, and ETL-style pipelines in an Agile environment.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
Required Previous Experiences: Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and backend development using Node.js
Experience building APIs and services with modern frameworks such as Nest.js or Express
Experience transforming and ingesting data into MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
Experience with OCR or image-based text extraction for document-heavy and unstructured data
Experience designing data ingestion or ETL-style pipelines
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with React, Next.js, or Angular
Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative communication skills
