The City of New York is hiring a Data Engineer to support the Enterprise Data Science and Engineering Unit and the Department of Sustainable Delivery. The role involves architecting and maintaining scalable Apache NiFi ETL and real-time data pipelines, managing Snowflake data warehouses, administering Linux-based cloud environments, developing CI/CD workflows, collaborating with data scientists and analysts, implementing data governance and auditing practices, troubleshooting data-platform issues, and mentoring staff. The position requires a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field plus either four years of experience in datacenter, cloud, or complex IT infrastructure engineering, or eight years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
