Description

KBR is hiring a Data Engineer for its National Security Solutions team to support DoD test and evaluation analysis, data-driven decision products, analytic workflows, and CHEETAS tools. The role requires an active or current TS/SCI clearance, a relevant degree, and extensive experience with big data, ETL, Python and R, SQL, distributed computing, data visualization, and data systems. The position is onsite in Camarillo, California, with 25% travel and potential surge to 50%, and offers a basic compensation range of $119,900 to $179,800.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Degree in operations research, engineering, applied math, statistics, computer science, or information technology
Required Previous Experiences: Five years of hands-on big data analytics experience
Five years of hands-on experience with object-oriented and functional programming languages
Experience installing, configuring, and using big data infrastructure
Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and datasets
Experience cleaning and preparing time series and geospatial data
Experience querying databases and configuring distributed storage and computing environments
Experience designing, building, and maintaining data systems and solutions
Experience using Python and R to process, analyze, and visualize data
Experience using Jupyter Notebooks and RMarkdown
Experience using RShiny, pyShiny, and Dash
Experience generating and presenting reports, visualizations, and findings
Experience working with Windows, Linux, and containers
Experience working with code repositories in a collaborative team
Experience implementing ETL processes
Knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and large disparate datasets
Knowledge of software design patterns and Agile Development methodologies
Knowledge of operations research, statistics, machine learning, data science, and computer science
Knowledge of programming concepts, data structures, storage architecture, databases, distributed computing, and modeling and simulation
Preferred Qualifications: 15+ years of experience within the Department of Defense
10-15 years of Department of Defense experience
