Capitec is building a Data Engineer Talent Community for future opportunities across multiple experience levels rather than recruiting for one specific vacancy. The role involves designing, building, testing, and maintaining cloud-native data pipelines and infrastructure for large-scale banking data, including ETL/ELT, batch and real-time processing, data lakes, warehouses, quality, governance, orchestration, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code. Depending on seniority, contributors may own pipelines, design solutions and platforms, optimise performance, mentor engineers, establish standards, and lead large-scale data initiatives. The posting requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and references advanced experience with SQL, Python, cloud data services, architecture, governance, and related data engineering technologies.
