Description
Depop is hiring a Data Engineer to work on its Data Platform, focusing on Kafka and streaming infrastructure, the bronze data lake layer, event tracking, sessionisation, and the development of next-generation streaming frameworks. The role involves building and maintaining Kafka Connect and streaming pipelines, extending the bronze streaming layer, implementing data contracts and freshness checks, supporting event onboarding and troubleshooting, documenting trade-offs, and collaborating with Data Infrastructure, Analytics Engineering, ML, and Insights. Candidates should have production pipeline experience, knowledge of Scala, Kotlin, or Python, familiarity with data warehousing and data quality, and comfort with Kafka Connect, schema registries, and distributed systems.
