Apple is hiring a Data Platform Engineer to build and operate large-scale distributed data systems for Apple Ads. The role involves developing scalable back-end systems, using technologies such as Kafka Connect, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Iceberg, Hive, and Kubernetes or Yarn, managing stakeholders, leading projects from concept through delivery, and mentoring junior team members. Candidates need 3–7 years of distributed-systems experience, Java or Scala proficiency, API expertise, strong debugging and communication skills, and a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in computer science or a related technical discipline.
