Description

Harvey is hiring a Data Platform Engineer to build and operate a central data platform for product, data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams. The role owns architecture, ingestion, Snowflake warehousing, CDC and streaming pipelines, orchestration, transformation and compute frameworks, self-serve tooling, real-time processing, quality, lineage, governance, PII handling, and multi-region residency. It is based in San Francisco, California or New York, New York, and offers $193,400-$290,000 USD in compensation.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years building and operating production data infrastructure
Deep experience with cloud data warehouses, including performance tuning and cost management
Hands-on experience building CDC and streaming pipelines
Experience with managed ingestion tooling
Strong fluency with workflow orchestration
Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL
Experience building frameworks or internal tooling
Experience with data quality, observability, lineage, and schema evolution
Working knowledge of data governance in a regulated environment
Familiarity with cloud data services, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with dbt and analytics engineering teams
Experience with lakehouse architectures and open table formats
Experience operating multi-tenant platforms with strict security, compliance, or data residency requirements
Exposure to data infrastructure for AI products
Prior experience as an early or founding data platform hire at a fast-growing company
