Description

DataVisor is hiring a hands-on Data Scientist to own the detection strategy for its AI-powered fraud and anti-money laundering solutions. The role designs typology-based detection logic, thresholds, and false-positive tradeoffs across real-time payments, ACH, wire, check, and onboarding; solves the cold-start problem for new clients; configures the detection platform; documents solutions; and answers questions from cross-functional teams. The position requires Python and SQL, quantitative education, and at least one year of professional experience in fraud strategy, AML, risk analytics, or data science. Compensation is USD 120,000–170,000 plus bonuses and equity, with medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
Required Previous Experiences: At least 1 year of full-time professional experience in fraud strategy, AML/financial crime, risk analytics, data science, or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree preferred, not required
Experience owning fraud or AML strategy at a bank, credit union, fintech, or platform
Familiarity with rules engines, case management systems, or alert-tuning workflows
Experience using AI tools, including LLMs, to accelerate research, analysis, or documentation
Exposure to unsupervised learning, anomaly detection, or graph/link analysis
Client-facing or consulting background
Previous experience in a high-growth SaaS or fintech environment
