Google is hiring a Data Scientist Intern to support research and advanced analysis for its Software Engineering organization, including Search, YouTube, and Google Ads. The intern will analyze datasets, run live experiments, model business dynamics and user behavior, and develop innovative analytical methods. The role requires a student in the penultimate year of an accredited full-time PhD program in a relevant technical field, experience with statistical software and data analysis, and availability for a full-time 13-week UK internship during Summer 2027.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Currently enrolled in the penultimate year of an accredited full-time PhD program in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related technical field involving experimental design and quantitative analysis of experimental data.
Required Previous Experiences: Experience working with datasets using Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, or other statistical software.
Experience with statistical data analysis methods, including linear models, hypothesis testing, multi-level models, and Bayesian methods.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with causal inference methods.
Experience developing intellectual capital, such as peer-reviewed publications.
Ability to complete a minimum 13-week internship in the UK starting between May and July 2027.
