Zoox is hiring a Data Scientist for its Perception Verification and Validation team to develop datasets and metrics for evaluating the perception stack of its autonomous driving system. The role involves defining performance metrics, analyzing large-scale results to identify perception failure modes, presenting insights to leadership, and designing statistical methods to quantify uncertainty. Candidates should have a master's or PhD in a relevant field, experience with SQL, Spark, Scala, Python, exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and autonomous driving, safety-critical, or computer vision systems.
