Description
SMS group is hiring a Data Scientist focused on process modeling and machine learning for metallurgy and manufacturing. The role partners with process engineers and domain experts to understand physical processes, enhance existing models with data-driven methods, develop hybrid and virtual/soft-sensor models, and deliver end-to-end production solutions. Responsibilities include data analysis, feature engineering, modeling, validation, deployment, monitoring, drift management, and customer collaboration. The position requires a relevant master’s degree or two or more years of relevant experience, production AI/ML experience, Python and SQL skills, and willingness to work on-site and travel to customer sites.
