Description
The Database Engineer designs, develops, implements, and maintains relational and object-oriented databases, parser software, and database-loading software. The role translates requirements into schemas, queries, scripts, and macros; supports database administration; builds complex systems using ODBC and cloud storage; optimizes performance and security; and integrates messaging protocols. It focuses on the front end of the software lifecycle, from requirements through system acceptance testing and initial operational capability. The position requires at least 10 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope and at least 7 years developing SQL Server database architecture, along with a bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline or four years of database engineering experience, DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher, and LENEL Certified Expert certification in databases.
