The Direct Support Professional works in a day program with individuals in workplace and community settings, helping them feel safe, respected, mentored, and engaged. Responsibilities include creating opportunities to improve quality of life, supporting participation in activities such as movies, fishing, bowling, games, and other programs, and serving as a teacher, mentor, and friend. The role requires a criminal background check, age 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED, ability to drive a company vehicle, strong communication skills, accurate documentation, crisis judgment, a positive attitude, and prior direct support professional experience.
