Description
The Chemical Plant Operator directs shift production, operates and tends chemical-processing equipment, monitors process conditions and instruments, records operating data, performs quality-control sampling and tests, responds to emergencies, and coordinates with technical, maintenance, and supervisory personnel. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least seven years of plant operator experience with hazardous materials, and at least five years of related chemical plant experience with hazardous materials; rotating shifts, overtime, and respirator use are also required.
