The Deckhand is responsible for the general maintenance of an inland pushboat and barges, including working with lines and hard rigging, observing product transfers, and performing scheduled maintenance and repairs. The role requires adherence to safety rules, physical fitness for demanding tasks, and the ability to work and live in close quarters for extended periods.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: High School or GED preferred
Preferred Qualifications: Basic computer skills knowledge
12 months of consecutive work experience
Valid TWIC card
Valid driver’s license
No DWI or DUI in the last three years
Not more than 2 moving driving violations in the last 3 years
Ability to satisfy all United States Coast Guard physical requirements (CG-719K) and Chemical Drug Testing Programs
Ability to pass company requirements of 46 CFR Part 197 Subpart C Benzene
Valid state issued birth certificate
Valid social security card
Must be 18 years of age
No criminal charges pending or on probation
Ability to meet standards of Criteria Skill Assessment (online)
Ability to read and write English
Ability to understand written and verbal orders
