The Dental Prophylaxis Assistant performs professional dental cleanings, instructs patients on oral hygiene and preventive care, supports diagnostics and documentation, advises on individualized prevention plans, and collaborates with the prophylaxis team and other specialist departments. The role requires vocational training as a dental assistant, dental office assistant, dental prophylaxis assistant, certified assistant, or dental hygienist, an X-ray certificate, and knowledge of hygiene and safety standards; basic computer knowledge is an advantage.
