The Montgomery County Councilmember's office is hiring a Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative Management to lead policy development, legislative workflow, research, drafting, committee and Council oversight, stakeholder support, and implementation monitoring. The role also supervises and mentors legislative staff, manages legislative trackers and deadlines, and advises the Councilmember and Chief of Staff. It requires in-person work, travel throughout Montgomery County and the Washington metropolitan region, and occasional evening or weekend meetings or events. The position offers an anticipated hiring range of $89,721 to $122,876 and requires three years of progressively responsible legislative or policy research experience, a bachelor's degree, and relevant local-government experience.
