Description
The Deputy District Attorney provides complex legal services in an office and courtroom setting, including reviewing law enforcement reports, advising law enforcement, preparing and prosecuting adult and juvenile cases, handling appellate briefs and arguments, negotiating offers and sentencing recommendations, and attending specialty courts. The role requires a Juris Doctorate, knowledge of legal research and applicable laws, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a valid Nevada driver's license. Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with periodic travel to Carlin, Wells, and Wendover.
