Description
The Deputy Trainee is a full-time law enforcement academy recruit who participates in formal academy and in-house training, performs assigned work under supervision, and completes coursework, physical fitness, and behavioral requirements. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, Florida residency or approved training-center eligibility, a valid Florida driver's license, successful selection and screening, and the ability to learn firearms and emergency vehicle operations. The trainee must pass the academy, complete field training, pass the FDLE CJSTC examination within 30 days of graduation, and commit to a three-year employment period with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
