Description
The City of Kent is hiring a Design Engineer 3 to oversee the planning, design, review, and delivery of municipal public works infrastructure projects, including streets, levees, sanitary and storm sewers, water mains, and related improvements. The role involves preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, permits, calculations, cost estimates, grants, budgets, and consultant deliverables; coordinating with city departments, utilities, agencies, contractors, property owners, legal staff, and the public; mentoring design engineers; managing project scope, schedules, budgets, consultants, and grant funds; resolving design and coordination issues; and representing the City in technical and public forums. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, six years of technical civil engineering design experience, a Washington State Professional Engineer license, and a valid Washington State driver’s license are required.
