Description

Smiths Interconnect is seeking a Design Review Engineer responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing systems and products. This role involves participating in Global Customer Drawing Reviews, interpreting product specifications, recommending design/manufacturing requirements, and executing Engineering Change Orders. The engineer will also act as a point of contact for production floor issues, identify cost-saving opportunities, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

machined and molded polymers and metals
metal properties: conductivity, corrosion, machining methods, Plating options
contact technologies and contact physics theory
manufacturing process to achieve high resolution products (CNC machining, molding, deep drawing, screw machining, additive, stamping, over-molding)
cable terminations, strain relief and over-molding techniques
Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 3+ years’ work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge or work experience with highly regulated industries.
Familiar with contact technologies and contact physics theory.
Familiar with manufacturing process to achieve high resolution products (CNC machining, molding, deep drawing, screw machining, additive, stamping, over-molding).
Familiar with cable terminations, strain relief and over-molding techniques.
Familiar with Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.
