Description
Wiltshire Council is hiring a Level 4 Social Worker to become its Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO), a specialist SEND reform role that does not hold cases. The DSCO will lead quality assurance of social care contributions to EHCPs, advise on SEND and social care legislation, deliver training and practice development, support mediation and dispute resolution, develop guidance and practice standards, and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND across education, health, social care, and family services. The role requires a qualified Social Work England-registered social worker with significant post-qualification experience, strong safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to work autonomously and influence practice. It pays £44,253–£46,579 per annum for 37 hours and has an interview week commencing 12 October; the council's hybrid model requires office staff to be on site for at least half their hours.
