Description
The Criminal Investigator performs intermediate protective service and criminal investigation work for the Sheriff’s Office, including investigating adult and juvenile crimes, processing crime scenes, collecting and preserving physical and digital evidence, interviewing victims and witnesses, preparing cases for prosecution, testifying in court, and supporting community outreach. The role is assigned to the General Crimes Unit or Crime Scene Investigation Unit and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of the North Carolina BLET, an appropriate North Carolina driver’s license, and at least three years of law enforcement experience, with patrol experience preferred.
