Microsoft is hiring a Developer Experience Engineer II or Senior Developer Experience Engineer for its Artificial Intelligence Frameworks team. The role builds and maintains developer workflows, CI/CD and deployment automation, containerized development environments, SDK packaging and release pipelines, AI performance dashboards, and software productivity tools. Responsibilities include designing scalable software solutions, developing developer tools and customer SDKs for novel hardware platforms, collaborating with hardware architects and ML developers, establishing coding standards, and improving software productivity. The role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least two years of technical engineering experience with C, C++, or Python, plus the ability to meet Microsoft, customer, or government security screening requirements. Preferred qualifications include C/C++ experience, modern build systems, containerized workloads, SDK development, AI workload profiling, and software engineering fundamentals. The role offers a typical U.S. base pay range of USD 119,800 to USD 234,700 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
