Markel is hiring two permanent, full-time Development Underwriters for its Care Sector team across London and the South East, Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester. The role combines broker-facing development with underwriting, including building broker relationships, identifying and winning new business, underwriting and negotiating risks within authority, managing a pipeline, and contributing to new-business targets. Candidates should have commercial underwriting experience in the care or social welfare sector, broker-development experience, strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, and the ability to work autonomously across a territory.
