Description
The State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Services, is hiring ten full-time seasonal Developmental Services Worker 1 positions at Southbury Training School in Southbury, Connecticut. The positions provide support and instruction to individuals with intellectual disabilities, including assistance with activities of daily living, therapeutic programs, meal preparation, housekeeping, social and recreational activities, behavior modification, and medication administration when trained. The work is seasonal and expected to end no later than October 15, 2026, with shifts in cottages 7A, 20, 40, and 41. Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of May 16, 2026, complete required DDS training, maintain a valid Red Cross Waterfront Life Guard certification including CPR, hold a valid motor vehicle license, pass a pre-employment physical exam, and be able to perform emergency first aid. The salary is $25.21 per hour.
