Description
The Direct Support Professional provides training, support, and personal care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include implementing person-centered service plans, assisting with daily living activities, promoting community inclusion, documenting progress, providing transportation, supporting medication self-administration, and helping individuals achieve greater independence while complying with HCBS, Human Rights, and Medicaid requirements. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, successful completion of DSP and ID/DD training, and a valid Virginia driver's license with an acceptable driving record; experience with person-centered planning, behavioral supports, documentation, and personal care is preferred.
