Description
The Direct Support Professional provides community prevocational support to people with disabilities by coordinating and implementing activities that improve work performance and prepare individuals for paid employment or unpaid volunteer work. The role includes coaching and instructing people in work tasks, promoting independence and skill development, applying behavior management techniques, and ensuring safety and welfare. It is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; experience with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
