Description
The Direct Support Professional provides person-centered, compassionate care to individuals with intellectual, developmental, behavioral health, and other support needs. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, supporting independent living and community participation, administering medications, responding to medical emergencies, transporting individuals, documenting care, and collaborating with residential managers, clinicians, families, and other service providers. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, six months to one year of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background and drug screenings; it may involve evening, overnight, holiday, weekend, and on-call shifts.
