The Arc Eastern Connecticut is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Norwich, Connecticut, to provide personal care, recreation, daily living, social, health, rights, community-integration, and behavior-management support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role includes participating in individualized support plans, administering prescribed medications, completing documentation, providing first aid and CPR, transporting participants, preparing meals, and mentoring participants toward independence. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., totaling 32 hours, with a starting hourly rate of $20.20. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, basic computer aptitude, English communication ability, and the ability to mentor participants are required; prior experience with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
