Description
The Arc Eastern Connecticut is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Norwich, Connecticut, to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role provides personal care, recreation, daily living, social, health, rights, community-integration, and behavior-management support; participates in individualized support planning; administers prescribed medications; completes documentation; provides first aid and CPR; assists with transportation and meal preparation; and mentors participants toward independence. The schedule includes Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, basic computer aptitude, English communication ability, and the ability to mentor participants are required; prior experience with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred. Benefits include dental and health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, vacation, and sick leave, with a starting hourly rate of $20.20.
