Description
The Arc Eastern Connecticut is hiring a Direct Support Professional in New London, Connecticut, to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role provides personal care, recreation, daily living, social, health, rights, community-integration, and behavior-management support; participates in individualized support planning; administers prescribed medications; completes documentation; provides first aid and CPR; assists with transportation and meal preparation; and mentors participants toward independence. The schedule is Thursday and Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., totaling 32 hours. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, basic computer aptitude, English communication ability, and the ability to mentor participants are required; prior experience with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
