Description
The Arc Eastern Connecticut is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Norwich, Connecticut, to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role provides personal care, recreation, daily living, social, health, rights, community-integration, and behavior-management support; participates in individualized support planning; administers prescribed medications; completes documentation; provides first aid and CPR; assists with transportation and meal preparation; and mentors participants toward independence. The schedule is Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, basic computer aptitude, English communication ability, and the ability to mentor participants are required; prior experience with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, life insurance, holidays, and paid vacation and sick leave, with a starting hourly rate of $20.20.
