Description
Merlin is hiring an AI Core Platform Engineering Manager to define and lead the technical strategy for its AI Core platform covering perception, sensor fusion, decision-making, planning, and control. The role owns the architecture of the AI Core stack, leads a multidisciplinary team of AI, robotics, and software engineers, establishes safety and quality practices, coordinates with certification and systems teams, and integrates the platform with avionics and vehicle management systems. Candidates need a relevant degree, at least 10 years of software engineering experience including 5 years in physical AI technical leadership, production-grade safety-critical autonomy experience, and expertise in real-time perception, sensor fusion, motion planning, control, AI model training, MLOps, or onboard inference. The role welcomes remote applicants and prefers candidates based in or willing to relocate to Boston for a hybrid schedule.
