Description

Smartsheet is hiring a Director, Finance Systems & ERP to lead the engineering organization responsible for its financial technology ecosystem, including NetSuite, Coupa, Planful, Stripe, ZoneBilling, Metronome, and related ERP, procurement, payments, billing, tax, revenue, data, automation, and AI systems. The role owns technical strategy, architecture, engineering maturity, transformation programs, platform modernization, data quality, observability, vendor governance, and the development of AI and automated testing capabilities, while partnering with Finance, Product, Engineering, Data, and other enterprise leaders. The position reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Systems and offers a US base salary of $175,000–$290,000, with teleworking options from registered locations in the United States.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial systems, enterprise application engineering, ERP, software engineering, systems architecture, or related technical disciplines
5+ years of experience leading technical teams, including managers, senior engineers, architects, or other technical leaders
Deep experience with NetSuite or comparable enterprise ERP platforms and the ability to lead architecture and platform strategy
Experience leading a major ERP implementation, reimplementation, or transformation program through architecture, implementation, stabilization, and ongoing evolution
Experience with financial platforms including Coupa, Planful, Stripe, ZoneBilling, Metronome, Avalara, or comparable ERP, procurement, planning, payments, billing, tax, or monetization technologies
Experience with SaaS billing and monetization architectures, including subscription and usage-based or consumption-based business models
Experience designing or evolving enterprise data architecture, including systems of record, data models, interfaces, contracts, quality, reconciliation, governance, lineage, and downstream consumption
Experience partnering with enterprise Data Engineering or Analytics organizations and integrating operational systems with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar enterprise data technologies
Experience establishing modern engineering practices in enterprise application environments, including automated testing, CI/CD, source control, observability, release management, documentation, and operational readiness
Understanding of modern AI capabilities and the ability to identify practical applications of LLMs, agents, and intelligent automation while managing financial, security, and compliance risk
Experience governing system integrators and technology vendors during large transformation programs and challenging proposed architectures
Experience partnering with Product Managers and senior business leaders to combine business, product, and technical strategy into roadmaps and investment decisions
