Description
Amgen is hiring a Director, Machine Learning Engineering to lead multi-department AI and machine learning delivery within its AI Studio organization. The role owns enterprise AI/ML engineering strategy, portfolio investment and execution, production AI products, automation platforms, MLOps/LLMOps, GenAI, RAG, agentic AI, governance, reliability, and operational support across multiple departments. The director will lead product, platform, DevOps, and engineering leadership teams; establish standards for modeling evidence, evaluation, responsible AI, lifecycle quality, and platform interoperability; manage major technology and operating-model changes; and ensure measurable scientific, business, and operational outcomes. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 18–23 years of experience are required, along with director-level leadership, advanced AI/ML portfolio management, executive influence, and experience with AI/ML frameworks.
